200 years ago Dieppe was the first seaside town in France and its beautiful promenade along the sea has remained intact since then. Dieppe is a harbour city known for being lively and on the weekends you will notice the terraces on the marina never go empty. Moreover the city is one of Art and History and the Dieppe Castle from which you can overlook the town and the sea, hosts a very interesting museum. It was built from a dungeon erected between the 14 th and 18 th century
and it is still one of the most beautiful legacy of the coastal fortifications of the Channel.
Every second years you can enjoy the International Festival of kites which results in a wonderful show in the sky. It is the most important reunion of that kind in Europe.
Dieppe also often hosts national nautical events like the Tour de France à la Voile (sailing boats) or the Course du Figaro.
